Description
Pushing up through the foliage is an Amanita bisporigera (Eastern destroying angel). The brightness of its white is what caught my eye, despite how small it was among the leave and grass. These fungi are commonly seen across eastern North America but don't touch them because they're deadly and toxic. If this little one survives foot traffic and wildlife consumption, it'll grow taller and its cap will fan out to an impressive diameter.
